| Price Includes: |
- Two weeks in Paris and two weeks in Nice, France.
- Roundtrip air transportation from Los Angeles to France.
- Roundtrip ground transportation from Paris to Nice by train.
- 27 nights student accommodation in apartments, double occupancy.
- Daily breakfasts.
- All meals during excursions.
- Welcome and farewell dinners.
- Four weeks of French instruction at the École France Langue Institute (20 hours per week: 4 hours per day instruction / 5 days a week at the Institute).
- Transportation and transfers by private, air-conditioned, deluxe motor coach and/or train for all day trips and excursions.
- Paris public transportation pass.
- Weekend excursion to Avignon, Nimes, and Arles.
- Day trip to Monaco.
- City tour of Nice.
- Weekend excursion to the Chartres Cathedral and the castles of the Loire Valley.
- Day trip to Versailles and Giverny to visit the Chateau de Versailles and Monet’s House and Gardens.
- Two guided museum tours: Le Louvre and the Musée d’Orsay.
- Entrance fees and English-speaking guides at all major sites.
- Transfer to and from the airport.

- Services of professional, English-speaking tour director on overnight excursion and services of Paris based on-site facilitator. Facilitator accompanies program participants on included excursions and is available otherwise during regular “office” hours and can be reached 24/7 in case of emergency.

- Day trip to Monaco and weekend excursion to Provence.
- Full day excursion to Versailles, including guided tour of the Palace of Versailles and time to walk in the gardens.
- 2 day/1 night excursion to explore the beautiful Loire Valley Castles. Visit the Chartres Cathedral and the castles of Blois, Chenonceau, and Amboise. Picture stop at Chambord. Walking tour of the city of Tours. Breakfast, picnic lunch in the forests near Chambord, and dinner are included.

| École France Langue, where classes are held, is an accredited and highly-qualified language institute. Instructors have university degrees and many years of teaching experience. Classes are kept small to create a better learning environment. The school is located in the 16th arrondissement, near the Champs-Elysées and the Eiffel Tower. |

Financial aid and scholarships are available for Long Beach City College students.
The deadline to apply for a scholarship is December 5, 2008.
The deadline to apply for financial aid is May 1, 2009.

Dr. Marie-Laure Hinton
|
Dr. Hinton was born and raised in France and also lived in Spain, Belgium and Switzerland. After earning several degrees in France, she relocated to the United States. In 1997, she received a B.S. in General Physics from CSU, Dominguez Hills, a Masters in French Literature in 1998 and a B.A. in Spanish and Linguistics in 1999 from CSU, Long Beach with highest honors. She completed her Ph.D. at UCLA’s French and Francophone Studies Department. Her dissertation entitled Emile Zola photographe focuses on nineteenth century French literature and photography.
Throughout her education, Dr. Hinton has been the recipient of prestigious awards and scholarships based on her commitment and dedication to academic excellence. At CSU, Long Beach, she was nominated Distinguished Graduate Student and received a Certificate of Excellence Through High Scholastic Achievement from the College of Liberal Arts. She was also a Merit Scholar at CSU, Dominguez Hills for the Los Angeles Collaboration for Teacher Excellence, and in 2003 was awarded a Graduate Scholarship from UCLA. She is a member of the National French Honor Society, the American Association of Teachers of French and the National Physics Honor Society.
Dr. Hinton has extensive teaching experience in universities and community colleges in Southern California. She taught at UCLA, CSULB, Long Beach City College, Cerritos, Cypress and El Camino College. She was also a Teaching Assistant Coordinator at UCLA and CSULB and in 2001 was part of the UCLA Study Abroad Program in Paris. In 2006, she received an Outstanding Teacher’s Award. At Long Beach City College, she sponsors the French Club, is a member of the Board of Directors for Friends of Languages and the director of the 2008 and 2009 Study Abroad programs in France. |
